The year is 2016, and America is no more. The United States, Canada, and Mexico now comprise a single, unified front to the world the North American Union. Implanted ID chips are soon to become mandatory for every citizen of the NAU, and Trez Sleighton, a disgruntled ex-Army officer, takes to the mountains of Colorado to come to terms with the changing world—and his own hand in the whole mess.

Then sounds the trumpet.

Around the planet, people simply disappear.

In their wake, monsters of legend suddenly roam free to terrorize those who have been left behind. The legendary Nephilim, half-angels who struggle with their own demons, walk the earth in both darkness and light. The world’s most beloved celebrity, movie star Samouel Gallo, comes forward to make a long-awaited announcement that might mean world peace—or world damnation.

Meanwhile, a handful of the remaining citizens of the NAU feel the call to go west. Stricken by the loss of their loved ones, alienated by the inhumanity that has consumed their cities, these select few are moved by an inexplicable impulse to converge on a small town tucked away in the Rocky Mountains… a town most of them have never even heard about. As their paths turn toward Shaleford, CO, where Trez is struggling to understand an apocalyptic truth, the rest of the world waits to hear what tidings Samouel Gallo will bring. Is he the man of legend—a Bringer of Peace? Is he the archenemy of old? Is he… the Antichrist?

Open the pages of Pray and journey with those who set out to fight for their salvation as the world races to its horrific conclusion.

The Book of Revelation just got scarier.

Pray The Revelation Chronicles Book 1 eBook John Prescott

I read this book and it's sequel, Hell, in December 2016. I did not find the errors in the Kindle version that other people mentioned. And believe me, that would have driven me nuts.
Note: The third book, The End of all Things, though due a few years ago, has not been published. That does drive me nuts!
As a thriller, this book is acceptable. As Christian fiction, not so much.
The cursing was a surprise, and not a particularly welcome one, but all of these people were newly saved, so it can be said that their language was appropriate to the story line, though arguably not appropriate to Christian fiction.
Interestingly, the reviews I read didn't mention the many graphic, violent, bloody scenes. I'm not squeamish, and I love a good "beat 'em up" book or movie, but there were way too many graphic scenes where throats were ripped out, entrails gushed forth, limbs ripped from live humans, blood drinking, and on and on. I'd say such descriptions made up about 30% of the book.
Though I love Sci-fi, I've never been drawn to vampire and werewolve books, mostly because they've been overdone in recent years, but putting these creatures into this book did not offend me. It's fiction, and frankly I thought it an interesting twist, though entirely too graphic. My guess is these poor authors have to fill their stories up with enough words to get a trilogy in order to get published. Which in this series hasn't quite worked out.
These books are fiction, and this series is particularly fanciful. It must not be read with studious care, nor should any other fiction book on prophecy. That's what the Bible is for.
To sum up, this is a very graphic, very bloody read. In my opinion, while it has a Christian theme, it is not a typical book of Christian fiction. Before you purchase, be aware that there is ALOT of blood and guts.

The U.S. is no longer a republic and has joined with Canada and Mexico to create a new amalgamation of the three countries. People have been "chipped" the same as animals in a government program sold to the masses as security. No one is safe from this intrusive identification program.

Trez, a former soldier, has gone rogue and taken himself to the mountains to escape the new government. Deciding he will not join in the travesty he intends to hide from the powers that be. But just as he has settled into his campsite he hears the sound of a trumpet peeling. Loud enough to knock people to the ground and cause damage to the ears, he is, rightly amazed and frightened. As he watches in horror and passenger jet crashes into the mountain raging fire and death around him.

I really wanted to like this novel. I wanted it to be as good as I thought it might be when I started to read it. But I just could not enjoy it as much as I would have liked. While I am not a big reader of what is called "Christian" fiction I do read some of it to review on my blog. In this case I am unable to recommend it to my Christian friends. Firstly due to the language and secondly due to the stereotyping of both women and southerners. Not to mention the editing problems dealing with word usage, misspellings and punctuation.

While this book is about the Rapture and its aftermath, it does not follow the typical Christian lore regarding the Rapture. It also uses language that will offend many Christians. But if you want a book that mixes the Rapture with supernatural beings like werewolves and vampires this is one for you.

Although the story is good and he can write, he has a poor choice of words. There are so many curse words in this book that it really cheapened the story. I mean come on.. the F bomb and taking the Lords name in vain. There is no call for that! It doesn't add anything to the story, in fact it takes a lot away from it. I pushed my way through the book, but had a hard time doing it. I am halfway through the second book, " Hell", and so far so good, not much cursing, the occasional damn, but not the vulgar language of the first book. Sham on you John Prescott, you have a good story line going there so you don't need the excessive profanity to enhance the story. That is why I gave it such a poor rating, totally uncalled for vulgar language. This is suppose to be a halfway Christian book..NOT... But kudos to the second book in the toning down of the language. There is a lot of gruesome violence as well...but then again, Satan is evil and his minions are as well...
